This position is for the Deputy for Operations for the Research and
Applied Sciences Department, Code 71. The selectee reports directly
to the Senior Executive Service Department Head. The Deputy for
Operations works to deliver integrated products and services by
coordinating efforts across the Department and across the Center.
Coordinates with the Department Head, Business Deputy and the
Division Heads to represent an integrated program to senior
programmatic and technical sponsors and senior Command visitors.
Works closely with the National Competency leads for S&T, Command and
Control, and Communications to support technical and technical and
programmatic operations of the Research and Applied Sciences
Department and Team SPAWAR. Additionally, the employee will
interface directly with senior civilian and military personnel,
including representatives of SPAWAR Headquarters, other DON
activities, federal agencies, and industry (when appropriate), and is
the Department representative for the Steering Committee and
Corporate Operations Group (COG) meetings, and supports Executive
Board, Corporate Board and Strategic Planning Meetings. Selectee
serves as Department Alternate Pay Pool Manager.
