Veterans are distinct group of individuals who put serving others before themselves. No matter which branch of the armed forces we’ve served, we gained experience and overcame challenges that many civilians have not.  Now, that we are moving forward, there are additional challenges that we face and it is great to have such a knowledgeable organization such as SouthWestern Veterans Business Resource Center to help veterans navigate through resources, networking opportunities, entrepreneurship and employment.

I am sure you can agree with me that the civilian sector is a very different world outside of the military. One of the many obvious challenges is finding the right information to assist you in getting from point A to point B.

Many of us probably just checked out of the military, never giving a second thought about simple things we should have done, should do and still can do to make our lives a little bit easier. How important is it to have some sort of mentorship in place that is tailored to your specific needs to address  seeking employment or a better understanding of available VA benefits?

Do you know the purpose of making sure to have a copy of your medical records? Do you know where to obtain a copy of your medical records? What about the benefits of becoming a reservist or starting a veteran owned business?

Do yourself a favor and reach out to the SouthWestern Veterans Business Resource Center. I can assure you will find the benefits of finding the answers to these questions and more.

On June 14, 2017 I had the honor to meet with three Veterans and a civilian to provide our Learner program. Namath was one of them joined by Donny and Harold and our first civilian ever Stan.

All four endured over 2 hours with me, wow and they survived. I hope they retained something or anything and post their first blog about the orientation and share with their network. Semper Fi, Al

DOD Welcome home-small.jpg A welcoming home for our Troops.

Welcoming home our men and women doesn't end after the crowd disperses, it MUST continue on for the life of the Veteran! They've served us, now we will serve them with programs that work so they reintegrate into society.

We are a national public benefit nonprofit organization that educates American Communities about best practices to serve Veterans.  We honor their service by empowering Veterans to apply their training and skills to successfully transition to productive careers and enterprises.

We provide free vocational training 24/7 to all of our members through our website, in addition to local events.  We believe the tenet that American Communities are the ultimate beneficiaries when Veterans claim their benefits and invest in productive endeavors.

The SWVBRC enlists the support of members of local Communities like you to increase Veteran awareness of the value of obtaining a VA card and receiving earned benefits.

Sponsorships, donations, volunteers and support from communities like yours enable us to reach out to Veterans and empower them to transition back into successful, productive enterprises that ultimately benefit all Americans and support future generations.
