Summary: A visionary in the sonar field with in depth knowledge of customers, programs, and technology for Sonar and transducer related products and systems. Researches, plans, directs and coordinates activities involved in the capture and execution of electro-acoustic products and sonar system programs. P&L responsibility all phases of assigned programs. Directs the efforts of assigned program personnel and subordinate Program Manager(s) when appropriate. Responsible for, directs and coordinates, the technical assessment and activities associated with the identification, qualification and capture of new business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Identifies opportunities, develops customer relationships, partnering requirements and opportunities and leads proposal capture team and efforts for new transducer products and sonar system programs
· Using piezo-electric and single crystal materials and other active transducer materials, identifies underwater products or systems such as hydrophones, transducers, projectors, arrays and other electro-acoustic systems to meet customer performance requirements.
· Coordinates and executes Integrated Product Development Process requirements insuring the IPDP milestones are achieved
· Researches and analyzes new and alternative materials such as single crystal technology and its application for use in underwater products and systems.
· Senior program manager in the execution of complex projects/programs from design and development to production. Directs and oversees project team and manages conflicts within group. Performs team assessments and evaluations
· Coordinates with other engineering, operation and test personnel in a collaborative environment to efficiently plan and execute the activities required to achieve a producible and cost effective design validated through modeling and both laboratory and in-water testing.
· Define requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment.
· Defines resources and schedule for project/program implementation.
· Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
· Plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, milestones.
Basic Qualifications:
· BS degree in Engineering combined with business development experience, preferably within U.S. Government programs
· Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills
