Chip Dykes, helping others to achieve their potential

After retiring from 20 years in the Marine Corps, as Chief Warrant Officer 3, Chip Dykes knew he wanted to give back - so when Albert Renteria of the Southwest Veterans' Business Resource Center asked him to come on board as VP of Business Development, Chip said "Yes"

Chip shared Albert's vision to help veterans as they transitioned from military service to civilian life, he also shared Albert's commitment to help eradicate veteran homelessness. In order to gain a better understanding of SWVBRC's program, as well as himself, Chip signed up as a Learner stating, "I am in the process of learning so I can educate my fellow Veteran's".

Chip Dykes brings a wide array of experience with him. After retirement from the Marine Corps in 2002, Chip began working in the mortgage banking industry. In 2006, he assumed the duties of Military Relations Manager for Pioneer Services, a Division of MidCountry Bank, becoming Branch Manager for the Oceanside office of Pioneer Services in October 2007. Today, he is the Director of New Business Development for his own company, Big Graphic Impressions

In his Learner blog on SWVBRC, Chip says, "Now you may ask, what is a learner? A learner is someone like myself that spent time in the service, got out and went about my business without really understanding the rights and benefits I had earned through my service. Additionally, through this ongoing story I will learn more about myself, my accomplishments, my needs and goals. All of these things will help each learner to set themselves up for their future. The CEO's stated goal of eradicating Veteran's homelessness and joblessness is directly related to ensuring that every Veteran learn exactly what his or her earned rights are. I am in the process of learning so I can educate my fellow Veteran's."

Chip Dykes signs up new Learners at the Southwest Veterans' Business Resource Center

Chip Dyke’s involvement in Southwest Veterans' Business Resource Center's has helped in its development and success. Chip, being a Learner himself, clearly sets the example with his own actions. Our learners all agree to a program that requires the signing of the Articles of Agreements. The program’s online community presently has 658 participants of which 369 are Veterans. Of those Veterans, 83 are Learners. Success is evident as 23 of the Learners have found employment, five of them were in some state of homelessness. Chip’s participation and volunteer effort contributes greatly to achieving the aim of the SWVBRC to eradicate the notion of a homeless Veteran by 2035.
