The SBA Small Business Development Center at Lane Community College in Eugene is one of 10 centers the U.S. Small Business Administration announced Wednesday would each receive about $1 million to increase entrepreneurial assistance to veterans.

The grants will fund programs for veterans that promote ownership of businesses. The money will also be used to provide services to small businesses dealing with employees serving overseas in the military.

The Oregon center will create a Veterans Small Business Management program for National Guard business owners affected by deployment of employees.

“The center will serve as a one-stop point of contact and deliver services through traditional one-on-one counseling and simultaneous distance education, VoIP audio and Web technology to eliminate time and distance barriers,” according to news release from the Small Business Administration.
