Local company hires 50 previously homeless veterans…looks to
hire another 250
Indianapolis, IN, March 19, 2010 — Save Our Veterans, Inc. (SOV) has spent months in planning it’s opening of a
call center focused on training and employing previously homeless
veterans. Since February 15, 2010, Save Our Veterans has hired and
started training 50 Veterans.
Victor Wakley it’s Executive Director stated that he has witnessed the
issues of veterans for several years by observing his many relatives
returning from serving their country to find NO job opportunities, no
real support from corporate America to give preferential treatment to
the men and women who risk their lives for America’s freedom.
Mr. Wakley further stated that his nephew returned from Iraq recently,
and has endured extreme hardship as a result of his service. “Our
veterans gallantly served our country, and now we need to serve them” is
the battle cry of Victor Wakley. He also noted that the proceeds that
are raised in the call center will initially be used for salaries and
training of the veterans themselves, with the balance of proceeds going
toward the construction of housing projects planned in the future.
“Our veterans are being helped by great Americans that realize that they
have a patriotic duty and moral obligation to restore the over 6,000
homeless Veterans right here in Indiana” … “Talk about your GREEN jobs”, “we are, restoring, rebuilding, and
recycling Veterans lives!”
“This is the first step in eliminating homelessness across the country,
but in order for us to be successful, the entire country including
corporate America must get involved”.
Save Our Veterans thanks the efforts of Kenneth Griffin of the Homeless
Veterans Reintegration Program which is a division of the Homeless
Initiative Program managed by Sharon Stark developed through Health Net
and Clarian Health, which has provided training, funding, and Veterans
for the program. Additionally Save Our Veterans thanks the gallant
efforts of State Rep. John Bartlett, Goodwill Industries, Eli Lilly
Corp., Mayor Greg Ballard, Speaker of the House Patrick Bauer, State
Rep. Cindy Noe, and Full Prospective Services for their support.
Save Our Veterans was extremely fortunate to partner with a Veteran
owned direct marketing support center called Full Perspective Services
(FP). 30 year old FP has a state-of-the-art telephone and computer
system offering boutique scripting and unique projects. Typically, FP
operates as a fee-based service organization but in the case of SOV, FP immediately answered the call of duty
offering their premium call center to this first of its kind Homeless
Veterans project.
FP staff was so emotionally drawn to this just and noble cause that they
exerted monumental efforts to accommodate the Save Our Veterans
project. FP has multiple call centers operating under the same roof each
with their own respective areas, and management teams. “There has been
no interruption to the normal flow of business for FP clients” Brett
Healey, FP’s Vice President of Marketing & Sales, said. “Our
company is honored to support SOV’s initiative.” “We believe in Mr.
Wakley, his vision, and in every single one of the 50 Veterans that have
bravely served our country.” “Witnessing the State Agencies, Veterans
Affairs, the multitude of companies, and community support restores our
faith in America, and makes us Proud to Serve the Veterans in this Very
important initiative”. “We are calling on our friends, clients,
partners, the city of Indianapolis, and the rest of the United States of
America to join this cause to Save Our Veterans”. They make it
extremely easy to donate by simply calling: 1-888-818-1999 or visiting
their website at www.saveourveterans.org.”
“Save Our Veterans has RESTORED the confidence
of all our veterans in the program and hope in the American Dream once
again.” “All we want is an opportunity to help our fellow homeless,
jobless veterans and ourselves” states David Harris (homeless veteran).
Save Our Veterans asks both individuals and business leaders who wish to
